ocell delivers high-quality carbon credits from European forests. 100% ex-post, 100% tech-driven – designed for measurable, lasting impact.
ocell is currently focused entirely on the forestry software Dynamic Forest. Our existing climate projects — Raben, Nonnenheide, Eußenheim, and Krümmel — are being carefully managed to completion under their original commitments. We are currently not onboarding new carbon projects.

Forest health is eroding
Declining timber revenues and increasing risks from storms, pests, and droughts are putting growing pressure on forest owners. At the same time, overall forest health continues to deteriorate, limiting the ability of forests to adapt to accelerating climate impacts.

Climate depends on forests
Europe relies heavily on the land-use, land-use change, and forestry (LULUCF) sector to meet its climate targets. However, forests can only deliver long-term climate benefits if management practices actively support resilience, stability, and sustained carbon storage.

Biodiversity is declining
Europe faces a biological emergency: 81% of protected habitats are already in poor condition. This loss of diversity strips forests of their natural resilience, leaving them defenseless against the accelerating impacts of climate change.
Improved Forest Management (IFM) provides a science-based response to the growing pressures on Europe’s forests. By strengthening forest structure and resilience rather than short-term extraction, IFM supports climate adaptation, biodiversity, and long-term carbon storage. Within our approach, IFM forms the foundation for measurable and verifiable climate impact.
- strengthens resilience against climate-driven risks.
- safeguards biodiversity through science-based management.
- enables long-term value creation for forest owners and climate stakeholders

Our Digital Backbone
Measure. Report. Verify. Digitally. Continuously.
Our digital MRV system (powered by the Dynamic Forest platform) creates a transparent and verifiable record of forest development and management.
Our digital monitoring includes:
- Project documentation in Real-time
Continously digital documentation of project activities and forest management
- Independent audits every 12 months
Third-party verification of reported measures and outcomes by accredited VVB's.
- High-resolution aerial imagery every 40 months
Remote sensing and AI-supported analysis help identify change and risk early.
- Forest inventories every 10 years
Grid-based on-site sampling ensures high accuracy and consistency.

High-Integrity by Design
Credits are issued only after impact has occurred: measurable and immediate.
Our approach is built on the Wald-Klimastandard (WKS), developed by the Ecosystem Value Alliance Foundation (EVA), one of Germany’s leading forestry organizations.
The WKS is ICROA-approved and meets the highest international quality standards.
Together with WKS and leading scientific experts, we developed the Climate Optimized Forest Management methodology. It goes beyond carbon storage to actively reduce external risks and build resilient, future-proof forests.
Our projects focus on:
- reducing vulnerable areas to maintain healthy, stable ecosystems,
- preserving and enhancing additional forest carbon stocks,
- diversifying tree species to strengthen climate resilience and biodiversity.
To ensure full transparency and credibility, all ocell projects are independently verified by an accredited Validation and Verification Body (VVB) like TÜV Rheinland.
